ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. –– The COVID-19 pandemic has affected Notre Dame players past and present. However, for Robert Washington, his fight with the disease ended tragically in June.
Robert passed away from coronavirus on June 11th, 2020 in Arizona. The 68-year-old cancer survivor and diabetic returned to work after Arizona casinos reopened.
He worked simply to pay his bills and pay for his insulin. Robert's daughter Lina is sharing his legacy, and his fight with a disease that she said she believes could have easily been avoided.
