Colorado man sent to hospital after other driver disregards stop sign in Cass County

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- A 25-year-old Thornton, Colorado man was sent to the hospital after another driver disregarded a stop sign, leading to a crash.

The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to the intersection of M-40 and Teasdale Lake Street in Porter Township around 6:58 p.m., Saturday, for a two-vehicle crash.

Deputies determined a vehicle, driven by 20-year-old Dylan Burkey of Constantine, was traveling east on Teasdale Lake Street when he disregarded the stop sign and entered the intersection of M-40.

Investigators say that's when a vehicle, driven by a Thornton, Colorado man, traveling south on M-40 collided with Burkey.

The Colorado man was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
