North Judson man located, arrested for alleged violent April burglary

STARKE COUNTY, Ind. -- A man was struck in the head while asleep during an April 23 burglary in Knox with the suspect, 52-year-old Christopher Fields of North Judson, evading authorities until now.

On June 8, the Starke County Sheriff's Department reports that Fields was taken into custody by the Marshall County Sheriff's Department and the Plymouth Police Department.

Investigators say Fields was found in Plymouth riding a bike. He was arrested without incident.

Fields was wanted on warrants out of Starke County for Burglary Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, a Level 2 Felony, Burglary, a Level 4 Felony, Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon, a Level 5 Felony, Battery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, a Level 5 Felony, and Theft, a Class A Misdemeanor.

The burglary occurred in the 500 block of West Ellis Street in Knox.

Investigators say Fields unlawfully entered a residence before allegedly assaulting the sleeping occupant, resulting in serious injuries.
