Community invited to lecture series, 'Rockne: His Greatest Games'

The History Museum

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The History Museum announced guest speaker Alex Painter will present "Rockne: His Greatest Games" at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 12, in conjunction with the exhibit Rockne: Life & Legacy.

Tickets are $5 and can be purchased online. Admission includes tours of the exhibit.

Painter’s lecture will trace Rockne’s rise in college football through the games that made him a legend.

Museum staff say in his talk, Painter will revisit contests that were more than just wins and losses, but turning points that forged modern-day rivalries, produced iconic moments like Rockne's “Win One for the Gipper” speech.

Painter is also the host of “Rockne: The Legend Lives On.” The podcast is presented by the museum in conjunction with Rockne: Life & Legacy.

Painter is a Notre Dame fan, researcher, and historian.
