ELKHART, Ind. --- A bike ride and bake sale was held for 14 year old Erik Miller, in Elkhart on Saturday. Miller has cerebral palsy and his family is looking to raise money for a wheelchair accessible van.
About a dozen riders made the trip from the Big R store in Elkhart to Creekside Church where the bake sale was held. Sue Willman came from Pennsylvania to be a part of the ride.
“Her story about Erik, something about it just called out to my heart and I just wanted to give him a ride,” said Willman.
Riders and Erik’s family say that his big heart is what has caused his story to resonate with so many people.
“His spirit and his heart are bigger than the world. He loves with a passion,” said Danette Dills, Miller’s mom.
Willman even had the privilege to escort Miller on her motorcycle for the journey.
“I don’t even have words. He was so elated and that is all I wanted and he gave me the biggest hug I’ve ever had,” said Willman.
In addition to the ride and bake sale, there is a gofundme campaign set up for Erik’s family.
