UPDATE: Auten Road Bridge reopened after road flooding Wednesday morning

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- UPDATE: As of 8:24 a.m., Wednesday, the bridge has reopened.
ORIGINAL STORY: St. Joseph County officials report as of 6:22 a.m., Wednesday, Auten Road Bridge over the St. Joseph River has been closed due to road flooding.
Officials say due to the high volume of rain in a short period of time, the drains on the bridge deck are unable to handle the water.
The closure is not due to the river level, according to county officials.
They add at this time there is no threat of flooding associated with the river itself.
