Assault in Almena Township

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. --Van Buren County Deputies were dispatched to the 29 thousand block of M43 for an assault on June 28, for a reported fight between two males, with one male stabbed. 

The Deputies apprehended the suspect when they arrived, and Michigan State Police began giving medical care to the victim. 

Investigation revealed that both men resided together at the location, and were under the influence of alcohol, when an argument over employment and food then ensued. 

The 22-year-old suspect from Guatemala, stabbed the 21-year-old victim in the chest. 

That victim was stabilized on scene and transported to Bronson Methodist hospital, where he's currently listed in serious, but stable condition. 

The suspect is lodged at the Van Buren County Jail, on the charge of assault with intent to commit murder.
