51-year-old La Porte man charged with child exploitation

LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- UPDATE: Charges have been officially filed against Carlisle.

He faces five counts of Child Exploitation and will make his initial court appearance Friday at 8:30 a.m. in the La Porte Circuit Court.

ORIGINAL STORY: The Indiana State Police Criminal Investigation Division at the Lowell Post reports they received tips about a man who possessed and was sharing images of child pornography.

The report states detectives determined the suspect was using the social media platform Kik to receive and share the images.

Authorities say a thorough investigation indicated the images were being sent from someone in La Porte.

The suspect was identified as 51-year-old John M. Carlisle, of La Porte.

ISP detectives arrested Carlisle at his home in La Porte Tuesday on preliminary charges of Child Exploitation, level four and five felonies.

Carlisle was taken to the La Porte County Jail.
