UPDATE: Woman and three children found dead in Wolcottville home Tuesday identified, investigation ongoing
UPDATE: The Noble County Coroner has identified the four dead individuals found in a Wolcottville residence on Tuesday, as 32-year-old Rebecca Hughes, 8-year-old Evelyn Newell, 6-year-old Allison Newell, and 5-year-old Amelia Newell.
The Indiana State Police say autopsies were conducted on four and the Coroner's Report, including toxicology results, are still pending.
The investigation is ongoing.
Police say there's no other information to release currently.
ORIGINAL: WOLCOTTVILLE, Ind. -- The Indiana State Police has launched a death investigation after a welfare check resulted in the discovery of a deceased female and three deceased children in Wolcottville, in Noble County.
"On Sept. 17, at approximately 11:20 a.m., officers with the Wolcottville Police Department were dispatched to conduct a welfare check at a residence in the 100 block of South Main Street in Wolcottville," ISP said. "While at this residence officers located a deceased adult female and three children that were also deceased. After making this discovery, the Indiana State Police was contacted."
A preliminary investigation indicates to authorities that there is not a threat to the public.
The Noble County Coroner will identify the bodies and autopsies are scheduled to be performed Wednesday at the Northeast Indiana Forensic Center in Ft. Wayne, to determine the cause and manner of the deaths.
