What's in store for day two of the DNC
CHICAGO -- It's day two of the Democratic National Convention. And after a powerful kickoff last night with speeches from President Joe Biden, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Hillary Clinton, Tuesday night promises to be just as impactful.
Former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama are set to return to Chicago, the city they once called home, to show their support behind Vice President Kamala Harris' nomination.
The theme for Tuesday night is "A Bold Vision for America's Future," and both Obamas are expected to outline how Harris is the right person to lead that vision.
Also on tonight's agenda, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff will take the stage to rally support for his wife, along with Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, who was once considered as a possible running mate for Harris.
"Those are people who know how to fire up a crowd and tell stories and interest other people in politics. It's salesmanship. It's people who have sold a brand and sold it well. And why not bring them?" Associate Professor of Political Science at Ball State University Chad Kinsella said.
