Blame Mother Nature for slow start to Michigan planting season
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Tuesday is Election Day and while early voting has been underway for weeks now, Tuesday will be a busy day for election workers. For many first-time voters this may be an intimidating day, but this is a very streamlined process.
Registered voters need to bring a government issued ID and can go to one of the 39 voting centers in Saint Joseph County. Voting will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and for those who live in Michigan the special election is also happening Tuesday. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
To avoid longer lines it is advised to go during some of the off times if you are able to! Amy Rolfes, Clerk of the Circuit Court in St Joseph County explains, “Generally, at 6 a.m. is when we do have quite a bit of voters, mostly people that are going to work. It sort of follows the workday. People vote early before they go to work, people vote on their lunch hours as well, and then people vote after work."
