Man arrested after attacking two semi trucks with an axe

LAKE COUNTY, Ind. -- A driver was arrested in Hammond after attacking two semi trucks with an axe.

Indiana State Police said on Sept. 11 the suspect was driving erratically on I-80 eastbound around 4:30 p.m. when he got out of his car and attacked the first truck.

About 20 minutes later, dispatchers received a report of a similar incident from another semi driver.

The suspect led the police on a pursuit before being detained. He is being held at Lake County jail on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement and criminal mischief.
