VIP and Harvest Hoedown brings Fall fun, benefitting Rio's Rainbow

ELKHART, Ind. -- The VIP and Harvest Hoedown brought local kids and parents to the Lexington Event Center for a day of fall fun, dancing, and games to benefit the nonprofit organization, Rio’s Rainbow.

The Lexington Event Center was transformed into a Fall paradise where parents and their kids could simply show up and have fun.

Whether that was getting family pictures taken before the holiday season, snacking on some fall-themed treats, or playing games.

“The vision for it is all inclusive,” Organizer Shane Gary said. “We’re used to a mother and son dance or a daddy and daughter dance, so the plan for this is just to bring everybody, right? Like your grandmother, your aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, babies, right? It’s all about the kids, so that’s what we’re doing here today.”

All proceeds from today's event went directly to Rio's Rainbow, a nonprofit organization to ensure that all children can attend school without fear, free from threats of physical, mental and emotional violence.

For an event centered around kids, Gary says Rio's Rainbow was the perfect beneficiary.

“So, we’ve worked with Rio’s Rainbow on a couple of different events and as much as they strive to protect our children, it just lined up with us working to bring our kiddos something fun to do and it only made sense to allow our proceeds to be given back to them,” Gary said.
