Westville teacher no longer employed after allegedly making post celebrating Charlie Kirk's death

WESTVILLE, Ind. -- Westville Schools Superintendent, MSD of new Durham Township, Brian Ton confirmed to ABC57 that a teacher within the district is no longer employed after making a social media post which allegedly celebrated the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Ton said the post was shared sometime before school on Thursday. The post reportedly stated the teacher was happy Kirk was killed Wednesday.
The post was then shared all over Facebook and other platforms.
The school district felt this incident was a disruption to the learning environment, and her continued employment would be detrimental to both the students and the teacher due to people coming after her over the comments.
Ton said the teacher and the district made a mutual agreement to have her step down.
A letter from the district was also sent to parents regarding the situation.
