Man sentenced for child solicitation messages intercepted by police

William Brazzle

FULTON COUNTY, Ind. -- A Logansport man has learned his sentence after investigators caught him attempting to meet a child for sexual acts.

In June 2023, a parent reported sexual messages being sent to their child's phone by a man. The Fulton County Sheriff's Office launched an investigation and continued the conversation with the man, whom they identified as William Brazzle.

Brazzle agreed to meet with who he believed was a 13-year-old girl at Rochester City Park. Police say while unknowingly messaging police, Brazzle discussed plans to have sex with the girl. When he arrived at the agreed upon location, law enforcement took him into custody.

Brazzle brought both marijuana and alcoholic beverages to the park, which investigators believe he planned to give to the victim.

Brazzle entered a guilty plea agreement for one count of Child Solicitation in May. As part of the agreement, he had his second count of Child Solicitation dropped.

Brazzle was then sentenced on Sept. 3 to five years in prison, with two years suspended for probation.
