Weekend snowfall causes slick roads, slide-offs, and downed trees and powerlines

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Fire Department reports it's been busy for their crews over the past 32 hours, stating they've responded to 145 calls for service since Sunday.
Fire officials say many calls involved crashes, trees and powerlines down.
SBFD officials say they typically respond to around 70 calls per day.
Officials say the roads remain icy Monday morning and they recommend giving yourself extra time if you need to be out, and to be patient.
The South Bend Police Department reports officers responded to 39 crashes between 6 p.m., Sunday, and 11 a.m., Monday.
Police couldn't confirm how many were weather-related.
Authorities did say during the same time period two days ago, they responded to 7 crashes.
SBPD officials say the worst areas have been the US 20 Bypass and hilly areas like Ironwood and Ewing.
