A number of warming centers are available for residents across Michiana this winter. This list will be updated throughout the season.

Saint Joseph County Public Library (304 South Main Street, South Bend)

Warming center available to St. Joseph County residents during operating hours: Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time.

Goshen Public Library (601 South 5th Street, Goshen)

Warming Center available to the public during operating hours: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Eastern Time.

Faith Mission (801 Benham Avenue, Elkhart)

Warming Center available overnight Sunday through Saturday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., Eastern Time.
Registration is available from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., Eastern Time.
To use the shelter, you must have an approved "Wants and Warrants" check from the Elkhart Police Department and bring it with you
To use the shelter, you must also be able to physically care for yourself, you cannot have any sex offender or arson convictions, you must be over 18 years of age, and you cannot bring in pets.
Weather Amnesty is also only activated when outside temperatures are below 32 degrees.
