SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A Rosie Place for Children hosts its 6th annual 'Rabbott's Rosie Ride' this Saturday.

Proceeds from the event go back to A Rosie Place, which is Indiana's only liscensed, non-profit specialty hosital providing respite care for medically fragile children and their families.

A medically fragile child has to have 24/7, special care provided by trained caregivers.

Children can stay at A Rosie Place for 1-10 days, giving them a chance to really be a kid in a comfortable environment. They get to spend time with trained caregivers and other kids with similar medical needs, while parents are able to take some time for themselves to get things done.

The ride itself was started 6 years ago by Rabbott, a friend of the organization.

Over 100 motorcyclists and 200 attendees are expected to come out for the poker-style run.

There will be more to do than just enjoy a nice breeze on the back of a motorcycle - organizers say donuts and coffee are on the morning menu. There will also be raffle tickets up for grabs.

The Anchor Conservation Club will host an after-party later that evening with live music, a chance to dunk Rabbott in the dunk tank, smoked BBQ and 50/50 raffles with prizes.

Events like these garner community support, which is crucial to the operations the hospital provides.

Registration starts at 9:30AM at A Rosie Place, with kickstands going up at 11AM.

You can learn more about the ride at the event's Facebook page.
