Vehicle crashes into horse drawn buggy in LaGrange County
LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. -- The LaGrange County Sheriff's Department reports on Sunday, June 9, around 2:34 p.m., deputies responded to a crash involving a motor vehicle and a horse drawn buggy on C.R. 925 West, north of U.S. 20.
The official report states a Dodge Grand Caravan, driven by 84-year-old Amos Miller of Shipshewana, was travelling north on C.R. 925 West, while a horse drawn buggy, operated by 64-year-old Elvie Miller of Ligonier, was travelling south on C.R. 925 West.
Elvie told authorities the Caravan drove left of center before striking the buggy.
The report states the buggy then tipped over on its side.
Amos signed off at the scene with medics and was not taken to the hospital.
Elvie and his buggy passenger, 64-year-old Betty Miller of Ligonier, were taken to the hospital with complaints of neck and back pain respectively.
No citations were issued.
