U.S. 20 lane closures to begin near Rolling Prairie May 5

LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- The Indiana Department of Transportation announced there will be alternating lane closures on U.S. 20 between C.R. 250 E and Oak Knoll Road starting on or after Monday, May 5.
Officials say phase one will consist of alternating lane closures for about one week to set up the traffic configuration for phase two.
INDOT say on or around May 10, the eastbound lanes will be converted to two-way traffic so construction can occur in the current westbound lanes.
Left turns will only be allowed at county road intersections through the work zone.
Officials say phase two will be ongoing until around the end of July.
The project includes road reconstruction with added center turn lanes and shoulders.
INDOT officials say this work will also be done on U.S. 20 between S.R. 39 and Fail Road and between U.S. 35 and C.R. 400 W.
These sections will begin later this year, officials said.
Work will be ongoing through late November.
INDOT encourages motorists to allow extra time when driving through this area and follow traffic directions carefully.
