Two-vehicle crash sends one to hospital Monday morning

GOSHEN, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to the intersection of C.R. 13 and C.R. 32 around 8:04 a.m., Monday, for a two-vehicle crash.
Authorities say a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox, driven by a 73-year-old Nappanee woman, was traveling north on C.R. 13, south of the intersection.
At the same time, the report states a 2021 Honda Civic, driven by a 36-year-old Goshen man, was traveling east on C.R. 32, west of the intersection.
The Civic then stopped at the stop sign at the west side of the intersection, before proceeding through the intersection east on C.R. 32.
The driver of the Equinox stated she didn't see the Civic in the intersection and continued traveling through, crashing into the Civic's passenger side at the rear wheel.
The collision caused the Civic to spin clockwise on C.R. 32 before coming to a stop partially off the roadway.
The 73-year-old driver had complaints of chest pain and was treated by medics on scene before being taken to Goshen General Hospital for further treatment.
The Civic's driver was uninjured.
No citations were given.
