BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Nine people are injured following a shooting in the early morning of April 26 on Kirkwood Avenue.
Bloomington Police Department were stationed in the 400 block of East Kirkwood Avenue, around 12:30 a.m., monitoring a large crowd that had gathered in the street. Police say they heard several gunshots and saw the crowds start scattering.
Around 3 a.m., the Bloomington Police Department reports five people have been transported to local hospitals by ambulance, a Bloomington Police squad car, and personal vehicles for treatment. Another person was taken by ambulance from a gas station in the 200 block of West 17th Street with injuries believed to be connected to the Kirkwood Avenue shooting, police said.
Police have not yet taken a suspect into custody following a shooting, anyone with information or video footage of the shooting is asked to contact detective Chris Scott at 812-339-4477.
