Two-vehicle crash in Elkhart County sends four to the hospital

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Elkhart County Sheriff's deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of Roys Ave. and Coolidge Ave at around 6:30pm Saturday.

A Ford Escape, driven by 34-year-old Aprille Walden of Elkhart was heading southbound on Roys Ave., when a Chevy Impala driven by 23-year-old Julio Martinez of South Bend failed to yield the right of way to the Ford Escape and hit its rear quarter panel, putting the vehicle on its side.

Walden and a passenger were transported to Elkhart General Hospital on complaints of pain. 

Two juvenile passengers in the Chevy Impala were taken to Elkhart General Hospital, one for a contusion to the head, and the other for contusions to the head and face.

Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be involved in the crash.
