Two survivors of Aurora shooting get married
AURORA, Colo. — Saturday marks one year since lives were turned upside down by a gunman in a Colorado movie theater. Now two survivors are taking back the day by tying the knot.
The couple was in the theater on a date when shots were fired. Eugene Han shielded his then-girlfriend from the bullets and was shot twice in the process.
They're getting married and are hoping to turn a painful memory into a positive one.
"It was a night of you know, terror and horror and all of that stuff," said Han. "But we wanted to change the date and kind of make it our own."
He waited and didn't propose for several months after the tragedy.
The bride-to-be says she knew he wanted to get married after saving her life that day.
