Two middle school students taken into custody after assaulting school staff

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Two students from Navarre middle school were put into custody Friday for assaulting and threatening school staff.

South Bend police reported that two juveniles attacked staff members while being disciplined for a separate incident. During this time, one student made a violent threat towards the school and its employees.

The school resource officer and South Bend police responded to the violence, detaining the students and taking them to the Juvenile Justice Center.
