Two car crashes send four to hospital in Van Buren County

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. - The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office reports that there were two car crashes that happened on M-43 Friday afternoon.

Authorities say they were dispatched to M-43 and 40th Street for a head on traffic crash. 

Police say a Jeep Patriot was traveling West when the driver crossed the center line and hit a Dodge Ram. 

Both Drivers were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

While Deputies and first responders were in route to the first crash, a call for a second crash came into dispatch in reference to two vehicles in the 37000 block of M-43. 

Deputies arrived and found that a volunteer firefighter from Paw Paw Fire Department, was responding West on M-43 to the first crash in a Jeep Liberty.  

Documents state a Ford Taurus was westbound attempting to turn left into a driveway when it was struck by the Jeep Liberty.  

The drivers in the second crash were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

There is no indication of drugs or alcohol related to either crash at this time and multiple witnesses were interviewed for both incidents. 

Both incidents are still under investigation by the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office.
