Three local organizations receive literacy grants from Dollar General

Nearly $60,000 in youth literacy grants have been awarded across the state of Indiana, including to three local organizations, the Dollar Generals Literacy Foundation announced Thursday.

The grants go towards supporting youth literacy programs within a 20-mile radius of a Dollar General store or distribution center.

Over 14,500 Indiana students will be impacted by the grants.

The three local organizations receiving literacy grants are:

  • Chandler Elementary School in Goshen received $2,000
  • South Bend Heritage Foundation in South Bend received $2,000
  • Eastern Pulaski Elementary School in Winamac received $1,900
