SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Common Council approved and adopted their 2025 budget.
More than $424 million dollars are being distributed amongst the City's several departments and providing salaries for City employees.
Out of the $424 million budget, over $60 million dollars will be funding the South Bend Police Department, just under $49 million dollars allocated to the South Bend Fire Department, and $14 million dollars will go towards The South Bend Public Transportation Corporation.
This year's budget saw a roughly two percent increase from last year's budget, which sat at $417 million dollars.
