SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- In a battle of the undefeated between the Penn Kingsmen and the St. Joseph Huskies, the Kingsmen made it out alive, taking the win Friday night 38-6.
Not only does Penn’s hot streak continue, but they also took home the Northern Indiana Conference trophy.
Penn Head Coach Pete Riordan says it was a team win; the offense remained consistent and did their thing by making explosive plays, but the defense shined holding back St. Joe’s daunted pass rush.
"Defense did a great job, our defensive staff has been working hard at it, and our seniors have responded all throughout the season and they did again tonight. So super proud of the effort those guys have put in,” says Riordan.
The undefeated Kingsmen will have a week off before they take on Portage on October 31st in the first round of sectionals, and the 8-1 Huskies will play South Bend Riley on Friday.
