UPDATE: SBPD investigates stabbing in the 400 block of S. Lafayette

UPDATE: St. Joseph County Police Department confirms at around 9:20 p.m., a male individual started banging on the front lobby windows at the St. Joseph County Jail, Friday evening.

The initial investigation indicates the individual was stabbed near Hope Rescue Mission, in the 400 block of S. Lafayette and went to the county jail to seek assistance.  

This case is being investigated from the South Bend Police Department.

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- St. Joseph County Dispatch confirms on a report of a stabbing in the parking lot of the St. Joseph County Jail. The call came in around 9 p.m. Friday evening.

No information yet on the victim, suspect, or reasoning behind the attack.
