The MOU includes a four-party agreement between St. Joseph County, City of Mishawaka, SJC Regional Water & Sewer District, and Granger Water LLC, a private company.
County officials say this will involve utility services encompassing Hickory Road to the county line, and southern Mishawaka's border including Grass Road.
It's about a four-mile boundary and includes utility services north of the river/county line including Granger and the Microsoft Data Center site.
The MOU will help lay out how utilities will be extended, who provides those utilities, and develop maps and timelines for services.
The MOU was already signed by the Sewer District and Mishawaka Tuesday morning. Granger Water LLC is in the process of signing.
In April and May, the Mishawaka approached the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission to establish an exclusive territory for water/sewer services. The IURC still needs to agree to allow service boundaries to be extended.
The next 45-60 days will include conversations with entities in the MOU to establish how utilities will be provided for the Microsoft Data Center once completed.
