SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Local counselors are encouraging more people to prepare to raise and respond to concerns of suicide among family, friends and co-workers.
The LivingWorks safeTALK class will teach you how to reach out someone thinking about suicide, and help keep them safe by connecting them to further support.
A 4-step model will help make you empowered to discuss suicide with someone who needs help.
Anyone aged 15+ is encouraged to take the class, hosted by St. Joseph County CARES.
The first class is Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. Additional classes will be offered every month this year, or you can schedule one for groups.
