South Bend Police Athletic League to hold Community Track and Field Showcase

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Police Department announced the Police Athletic League will host its inaugural Community Track and Field Showcase on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at LaSalle Academy.

The showcase will feature youth track teams from South Bend and Mishawaka.

Officials say this year is the first time the South Bend P.A.L. program has offered a track and field option for its sports summer camps.

Officials also say the program is already seeing success with several of its young athletes competing on a higher level across the state.

LaSalle Academy is located at 2701 W Elwood in South Bend.
