SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The South Bend Fire Department was dispatched shortly after 6:50 p.m. to the 1000 block of North Brookfield Street on the report of a house fire.

Upon arrival, firefighters began to work to combat the flames. 

It was noted that there is heavy damage throughout the second floor through the roof of the home, with the snow making it more difficult to fight due to how slick the roof is.

The resident was home at the time of the fire but was not injured.
