JONES, Mich. -- The Michigan Maple Festival rocked taste buds in Jones Michigan today, featuring many delicious maple inspired foods to sweeten up the day.
Outside of providing all you can eat pancakes, the festival also looks to educate on the versality of maple syrup, as it can also be used as a sugar substitute and more.
The hosts, Maple Row Sugarhouse, using this opportunity to grow their business even further while helping educate the community.
"We started making maple syrup in 2011 and we've slowly grown from just making five gallons on a turkey fryer to today, we're making 1000s of gallons of syrup every year, and the festival started to show people how to use maple syrup other and put on pancakes. People know that you put syrup on pancakes, but most people don't realize you can use it as a substitute for white sugar. You can use it as a sweetener in your coffee, and by doing the festival that just shows people different ways of using maple syrup," stated Co-Owner of Maple Row Sugarhouse Daniel Olson.
If you missed out on the festivities, it will be back up next Saturday and Sunday.
