Sewer, stormwater sewer systyem separation work continues in Elkhart

City of Elkhart ELKHART, Ind. -- The federally mandated infrastructure project of separating stormwater and sanitary sewer systems will continue in Elkhart beginning on Wednesday.
The next phase of work will be the Jackson Boulevard Bridge.
The work aims to prevent sewage overflows into rivers during heavy rain, protecting the health and safety of local waterways.
This phase of work is expected to last until June 18.
The detour route includes S. 2nd Street, W. Lexington Avenue, Waterfall Drive, and S. Elkhart Avenue.
