ABC 57

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- An investigation into a recent officer-involved shooting in South Bend is now complete.

Indiana State Police announced it has handed the results of its investigation into Hannah Aberegg's death to St. Joseph County prosecutors. No further details on their findings are available.

The shooting happened May 6 at the Phillipps 66 gas station in the 3300 block of Portage Avenue. Officials say South Bend police officers were dispatched on a welfare check call put in by Aberegg's mother. Surveillance footage appears to show she was holding a gun when officers arrived. ISP officials say it appears at least one officer then shot and killed Aberegg.
