Rochester man sentenced for Possessing a Firearm as a Felon

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A 28-year-old man from Rochester was sentenced to 54 months in prison after pleading guilty to Possessing a Firearm as a Convicted Felon and Possessing a Firearm After Having Been Convicted of a Misdemeanor Crime of Domestic Violence.

The man, identified as Travis Frazier, accidentally fired a loaded gun while holding his infant child, inadvertently striking the child with bullet fragments, according to documents in the case.

Frazier, who had a prior felony conviction and a prior misdemeanor conviction for Domestic Battery, pleaded guilty, and was sentenced in the Northern District of Indiana to 54 months in prison followed by two years of supervised release.
