SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A groundbreaking took place Friday for a housing development that will include affordable housing.
The project, called Monreaux, is being built on the southwest corner of Monroe and Michigan Streets, where the former Fat Daddy's was located.
The project is also lead by former Notre Dame and WNBA player Devereaux Peters.
The complex will have 57 mixed use units and will also include small commercial space and workspaces.
Applications for potential residents will open before the project is expected to be finished in 2027.
