Riley clinches South Bend's first undefeated regular season in nearly four decades
SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Earlier this week, LaVille boys basketball completed a perfect 23-0 regular season record for the first time in school history. Just days later, South Bend Riley looked to accomplish the same feat with one more game to go.
The Wildcats trailed at halftime, but rolled to a 65-49 victory to finish the regular season 22-0. Riley became the first South Bend city school to complete a perfect regular season since Adams did it in 1979.
They now begin 4A postseason play with a first-round bye in the Mishawaka sectional. The Wildcats will play the winner of Penn and Mishawaka in the semifinals on Friday night.
