Police arrest suspect in attempted home invasion, shots fired

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. -- A suspect who allegedly attempted to break into an occupied residence and fired one shot was taken into custody, according to the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department.

On Tuesday, deputies were sent to a mobile home park in Nottawa Township for a shots fired incident.

The suspect tried breaking into an occupied residence and fired off a shot before leaving, reports said.

It was discovered the suspect was hiding out in a home with fire damage in the 27000 block of Findley Road, reports said.

The St. Joseph County Special Response Team was activated.

The suspect was eventually taken into custody, according to deputies.

The incident remains under investigation.
