Local bank matches Red Kettle donations to Salvation Army on Christmas Eve
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Christmas Eve is the final day of The Salvation Army of Elkhart's annual Red Kettle Campaign and Centier Bank is making donations of their own, matching all donations up to $1,200 to Red Kettles in Elkhart and Bristol.
Salvation Army officials say this will help them get closer to reaching their $500,000 fundraising goal to fund programs and services through 2025.
"Centier Bank is proud to support The Salvation Army of Elkhart through our donation to the Red Kettle Match Challenge on Christmas Eve. At Centier, we believe in the power of community and the importance of supporting those in need," said Scott Vermillion with Centier Bank. "We’re honored to play a role in spreading holiday cheer and hope this season."
You can find Red Kettles on the final day of bell ringing in Elkhart and Bristol at Walmart, Martin's Super Market, Kroger, Hobby Lobby, and Harding's Market.
Army Salvation Major Tim Nauta said, "We're seeing more people than we've ever seen before who are coming to us for various needs. Most of them are working folks. They just are having a hard time making their dollars stretch. We know the price of food and other expenses are just so high that people are having trouble making ends meet. So, we see families every day that just need a little help, and we're lucky that we can do that with the help of such generous supporters of our mission in this community."
