WARSAW, Ind - Penguin Point, a fast-food staple in Warsaw, will be shutting its doors for good this Sunday, November 12.
Some customers I spoke with today call the closure a tragedy.
One of them even told me several of his family members, and himself, all worked at Penguin Point at some point in the past.
One frequent customer, William Gaines, got emotional after he enjoyed his last meal today, although they were out of some of his favorite items here.
"They was out of French fries and chicken and they said they're just about out of meat even, so yeah it’s a sad day to see Penguin Point, something I grew up loving, it's going to be gone, it's sad." said Gaines.
The catering portion of Penguin Point called Black Tie Catering will still be open.
ABC57 is told that employees at restaurant locations were only notified on Friday that they were losing their jobs.
I did reach out to Penguin Point's corporate office to find out what prompted the widespread closure but haven't heard back yet.
