Pastor accused of sexual battery
WARSAW, Ind. -- A Warsaw pastor was arrested and charged with sexual misconduct with a minor Friday morning.
Robert Haywood, 77, is the pastor at Harvest Time Ministries Church on Pierceton Road.
Haywood is accused of touching a 14-year-old mentally and physically disabled girl while in the basement of the church in mid-June 2012.
A second incident involved fondling and alleged intercourse while in a vehicle in a wooded area in Warsaw in late June 2012, according to reports.
Christopher Stetzel, 17, lives next door to Haywood and his wife.
He said what hurts him the most is the fact the pastor often interacted with him and his younger siblings.
“Me and my friends would just be outside and he would come and talk to us. He would tell us stories about things happening at church. He always interacted with my little siblings. He would give them quarters and stuff like that for their piggy banks,” said Stetzel.
Haywood has been charged with one count of sexual misconduct with a minor, a class B felony, sexual misconduct with a minor, a class D felony and sexual battery, a class D felony.
