One arrested following deadly stabbing and police pursuit

LA PORTE, Ind, -- The La Porte Police Department reports officers responded to the 200 block of Lawndale Avenue regarding a stabbing, Monday morning.

Upon arrival, officers say they discovered a male victim.

The victim was taken to the La Porte Hospital where he died shortly after arrival.

A short time later, police say they located the suspect in La Porte County, where they then led officers from multiple agencies in a pursuit which ended in St. Joseph County.

The report states the suspect was taken into custody at the La Porte County Jail with pending charges.

Police say there is no danger to the public and this appears to be an isolated incident. 

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and no more information will be released currently.
