SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Longtime Notre Dame Men's Hockey Coach Jeff Jackson announces that the upcoming 2024-2025 Notre Dame Hockey season will be his last.

"We all go through that phase where we have to give up the game. You know, whether you're a player, you're a coach. There is always that last time, that you have to fight through that. I've had many conversations with players over the years about making that decision and it's no different for a coach. I've done it as a player, but I immediately picked up the game as a coach," stated Head Coach Jeff Jackson.

Jackson says he and his players still have plenty of time together before his run is over, saying, "So I think that they were they were sad, but then happy. And that's really what I was hoping for. Because I don't want it, I don't want it to be a long-term distraction. I want em' you know, let's get through this week. And then let's not talk about it again till next March and April."

Associate Head Coach and former Irish player, Brock Sheahan, will replace Jeff Jackson when he steps down after next season.
