UPDATE: As of 10 a.m. on the morning of Sept. 16, all lanes of traffic have been reopened.
ORIGINAL: MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The City of Mishawaka announced NIPSCO will close all westbound lanes of W. Douglas Road just west of Grape Road for emergency gas leak repairs starting at 8 a.m., Thursday.
Eastbound traffic will be maintained during the closure.
Motorists heading west are asked to use S.R. 23 and Edison Road as detours during the process.
Weather permitting, officials say the lane closure is expected to be in place until Sunday.
Barricades and signage will be in place during the restriction.
Motorists are asked to use caution and encouraged to use alternate routes to ensure the safety of the crews working in the area.
