UPDATE: One man in serious condition after fire at Cass County bar

The photo above shows a longtime Zimmy's Tavern employee hugging one of the responding firefighters.

UPDATE THREE: Fire officials tell ABC57 say they were called for an explosion.

A 48-year-old man from White Pigeon was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

A firefighter was hurt at the scene but has since been released from the hospital.

UPDATE TWO: ABC57 crew near the area have been forced to evacuate after a gas leak at the scene of Zimmy's Tavern was discovered.

UPDATE: The Michigan State Police and local law enforcement informed ABC57 that members of the public and media aren't allowed to get within a mile of Zimmy's Tavern at this time.

ORIGINAL STORY: CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- First responders were on the scene of a morning fire at a local bar in Cass County.

Photos and video obtained by ABC57 show a large blaze at Zimmy's Tavern in Union, off Sunset Boulevard.

Dispatch officials confirmed the call came in around 6:30 a.m.
