Forty-one-year-old Shawn Wesly Russell Akison, of Romeoville, Ill., appeared via video in custody with his legal counsel to hear the judge deny his request.
He remains housed in the LCJ and is being held on a $15,005.00 cash-only bond through Superior Court I.
A pretrial conference is currently scheduled for Sept. 12, with a jury trial set to begin on Oct. 14.
