The standout basketball player who played for Riley High School, Notre Dame, and now the San Antonio Spurs paid a visit to his hometown Friday in hopes to lift their spirits following the tragic fire on LaPorte Avenue.
Starting at Madison STEAM for an all-school assembly where students were able to chat, ask questions, and find a role model in Wesley.
The SBCSC alum did not attend Madison, however two members of the "Smith Six", who lost their lives that tragic night, did.
He then made his way over to Central Fire Station to thank the local heroes, who fought the fire, with food, autographs, and a jersey.
Wesley’s jersey was retired from his alma mater Riley High School Friday night.
